Between autumn 2018 and spring 2019, Waila carried out a biochar field trial at Stenhuse farm in Sanda on the Swedish island of Gotland. The collected data is analyzed in close cooperation with Daniel Fischer, biochar expert from Germany, and Erik Karltun, reseacher at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) .

In November 2019, we are able to answer the following research questions:

  • How did the soil moisture develop in the field trial?
  • How did the soil nitrogen content, soil carbon content and soil pH-value develop?
  • Which yield differences have been measured between the different field plots (without biochar, amended with a biochar-manure substrate, amended with biochar loaded with organic nitrogen and microbes)?

We will present the results of the project at two events on Gotland.

» 20.11.19, 10:00 – 11:30 » Gotland Grönt Centrum, Lövsta » Conference Hall

» 21.11.19, 10:00 – 11:30 » Almedalsbibliotek, Visby » Lecture Hall E22

You are invited on a snack after the presentation.
Please register until the  15th of November via our contact form.

Everybody interested in the project results is welcome!
